DU announces Cut-Off list for Non-Collegiate Women courses;

 Delhi University (DU) has announced the First Cut-Off list for its Non-Collegiate Women's Education Board (NCWEB), under which students need not attend regular classes.

The cut off lists for its B.A. and B.Com. Courses have been announced.

The NCWEB offers special coaching to women students and enables them to appear in university examinations without attending regular classes.

Every year the NCWEB, on an average, sees an enrollment of over 16,000 students in undergraduate courses and 500 in postgraduate courses.

The third cut off list for the regular students will be announced on June 27, 2011. However, very few colleges are expected to announce a third list for admissions, with a majority of them already admitted students way above their capacity.

IGNOU - ADMISSION TO BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B.Ed.) PROGRAMME;

B.Ed. PROGRAMME - 2012

The admission to this programme is on the basis of an Entrance Test to be conducted on Sunday August 21, 2011 at all India Level.

Duration :                          2 Years
Medium of Instructions :    English & Hindi

Eligibility for Admission: 

1.  A Bechelor's degree or a Higher Degree with fifty (50%) percent marks from a recognized University. however, the requirement of 50% marks shall not apply to the teachers appointed prio to the commencement of NCTE Regulation Norms and Procedures, second amendment regulation dated 30.03.2010 and Gazette Notification dt. 26/07/2010.
2.  Serving teachers with two years (2 years) full time teaching experience in Government or Government recognized school.
3.  The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/State Government whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for them.

NOTE:     Candidates who have appeared in qualifying examination (Bachelors/Higher degree) and the results are awaited ca also apply

Last Date : 15th July, 2011

Filled-in form should be submitted at the concerned Regional Centre under whose jurisdiction the school where he/she is working falls on or before 15th July, 2011.

Working teachers sponsored by the various state are exempted from entrance test.

OPENMAT - XXX

IGNOU invites applicaitons for the following Degree/Diploma programmes in management.

Eligibility for Admission:

1.  Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for General Category and 45% for Resereved Category
OR
Bachelor's degree with 3 years of supervisory/managerial/professional experience, or professional degree in engineering/technology/Medicine/Architecture/Law/Pharmacy; or professional qualifications in Accountancy/Cost and Works Accountancy/Company Secretaryship etc. or Masters degree in any subject.
2.  Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU. candidates who have successfully cleared the entrance test for admission into management programmed consucted by the institutions like CAT, MAT and state level tests need not appear in OPENMAT. the cut-off percentage for admission of these candidates will be decided by the university.
3.  Non-graduate (10+2 or equivalent) with six years of managerial/supervisory/ professional experience are eligible for taking admission into Diploma in Management only, after clearing the entrance test.

NOTE: The university reserves the right to grant / deny admission to the candidates. There is no age bar for any of the programmes.

Delhi University Second Cut off List Declared


A Ray of Hope for Many Aspirants

The second cutoff list of Delhi University was released on Tuesday. As expected, a number of sought after colleges of Delhi University closed admissions to the popular B Com (Hon) and Economics (Hons) courses for general category, however, for OBC students seats were still available in almost all top colleges.


The Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) declared its admissions closed for both B Com and Economics honours after taking in 161 and 10 extra admissions in both these courses for the general category. However, in OBC category a second cut-off list was announced at 92 to 96 per cent in B Com (H) and 92.75 to 95.75 in Eco(H). Besides SRCC, the admissions in the general category for B Com (Hons) has been closed at Hindu college, Ramjas, Daulat Ran, Dyal Singh and Shaheed Bhagat Singh colleges, among others. The Economics (Hons) course was also closed in Hindu, Miranda, Ramjas and Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

But, colleges Kirori Mal, Hans Raj, LSR, SGTB Khalsa, Sri Venkateswara, Gargi, Indraprastha College and 37 other colleges still have their admissions open for BCom (H). While KMC and Venkateswara have decreased the cutoff by 1.5%, LSR has dropped it by 1.25% and Khalsa by 1%. Admissions in SRCC, however, have been closed for general students.

Admission in popular courses like BCom, Economics, English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is still open in colleges such as Kirori Mal, Sri Venkateswara and Lady Shri Ram, and cutoffs in certain cases are down by 5% to 10%.

In the Science stream, the popular Mathematics (Honours) course was also declared closed in some of the colleges, including Kirorimal, Miranda House, Hindu and Ramjas.

However, admissions were still open for this course in Hansraj which declared 94 per cent second cut off, in Lady Shri Ram (LSR) at 93.75 per cent and Sri Venkateshwara at 85 to 91 per cent. Admission to Physics (Honours) also closed after the first list in a number of colleges, including Kirorimal, Miranda House and Ramjas, but Hansraj and Hindu did come out with a second cut-off percentage of 95 and 95.66 respectively.

The colleges will take admissions under this 2nd list over the next four days from June 22 to June 25.
