Delhi University Second Cut off List Declared


A Ray of Hope for Many Aspirants

The second cutoff list of Delhi University was released on Tuesday. As expected, a number of sought after colleges of Delhi University closed admissions to the popular B Com (Hon) and Economics (Hons) courses for general category, however, for OBC students seats were still available in almost all top colleges.


The Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) declared its admissions closed for both B Com and Economics honours after taking in 161 and 10 extra admissions in both these courses for the general category. However, in OBC category a second cut-off list was announced at 92 to 96 per cent in B Com (H) and 92.75 to 95.75 in Eco(H). Besides SRCC, the admissions in the general category for B Com (Hons) has been closed at Hindu college, Ramjas, Daulat Ran, Dyal Singh and Shaheed Bhagat Singh colleges, among others. The Economics (Hons) course was also closed in Hindu, Miranda, Ramjas and Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

But, colleges Kirori Mal, Hans Raj, LSR, SGTB Khalsa, Sri Venkateswara, Gargi, Indraprastha College and 37 other colleges still have their admissions open for BCom (H). While KMC and Venkateswara have decreased the cutoff by 1.5%, LSR has dropped it by 1.25% and Khalsa by 1%. Admissions in SRCC, however, have been closed for general students.

Admission in popular courses like BCom, Economics, English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics is still open in colleges such as Kirori Mal, Sri Venkateswara and Lady Shri Ram, and cutoffs in certain cases are down by 5% to 10%.

In the Science stream, the popular Mathematics (Honours) course was also declared closed in some of the colleges, including Kirorimal, Miranda House, Hindu and Ramjas.

However, admissions were still open for this course in Hansraj which declared 94 per cent second cut off, in Lady Shri Ram (LSR) at 93.75 per cent and Sri Venkateshwara at 85 to 91 per cent. Admission to Physics (Honours) also closed after the first list in a number of colleges, including Kirorimal, Miranda House and Ramjas, but Hansraj and Hindu did come out with a second cut-off percentage of 95 and 95.66 respectively.

The colleges will take admissions under this 2nd list over the next four days from June 22 to June 25.
